Where to sit at MHPArena
The best seats at MHPArena are Gegentribüne middle tier, central blocks around the halfway line for the view. For value, choose Cannstatter Kurve lower standing terrace. For atmosphere, head to Cannstatter Kurve lower (active zone, around blocks 31–50). Avoid Cannstatter Kurve behind large banners / two-pole flags. MHPArena seats 60,058, home of VfB Stuttgart.

Full detailAbout MHPArena
The MHPArena is a roofed, football-only bowl where the home end is the Cannstatter Kurve — VfB Stuttgart's ultras (Commando Cannstatt 97) and the huge lower standing terrace of around 8,000. The long sides are the Haupttribüne (Main Stand, on Mercedesstraße, holding the VIP lounges and press) and the Gegentribüne (opposite, the only stand with a small third tier). The Untertürkheimer Kurve is the opposite curve and houses the away section, with visitors entering through blocks 61–65. Domestic games run at 60,058 with roughly 11,000 rail-seat standing places; for UEFA and international fixtures those convert to seats and capacity falls to about 54,812. Bowl geometry and full roof cover mean there's barely a bad seat — the central Gegentribüne and Haupttribüne give the best value side-on views. Concerts use an end stage with a standing pitch, so the far curve behind the stage becomes restricted or unused.
A football-only bowl in the NeckarPark with a striking, wave-like fabric roof of PVC-coated polyester membranes designed by Schlaich Bergermann Partner. The running track was removed and the pitch lowered by 1.30 m in the 2009–2011 conversion, bringing the stands right up to the touchlines; the main-stand lower tier was completely rebuilt for EURO 2024, lifting capacity to just over 60,000.

Bundesliga football
Full 60,058 capacity including around 11,000 safe-standing rail-seat places, most on the lower Cannstatter Kurve. Away fans in the Untertürkheimer Kurve (blocks 61–65), up to about 5,000.

End-stage with a standing pitch and seated floor blocks; the long-side stands give the best elevated views and the curve directly behind the stage is sold restricted or left unused.
Seating levels explained
Cannstatter KurveActive/standing zone approx. blocks 31–50; lower terrace ~8,000
VfB Stuttgart's home end and main standing terrace behind the goal, home to Commando Cannstatt 97 and the ultra scene. Rail seats give safe standing for league games.
Pros: Loudest atmosphere in the ground; cheapest standing tickets; genuine ultra experience.
Cons: Standing, packed, and flags/banners can block the near goal; becomes all-seater for European nights.
Haupttribüne (Main Stand)Two tiers; central blocks incl. VIP/business and press
The main grandstand on Mercedesstraße with the players' tunnel, dugouts, press facilities and the club's VIP lounges and business seats behind it.
Pros: Central side-on view; best hospitality and comfort; sheltered and premium.
Cons: Most expensive side; the central core is hospitality/business rather than cheap general admission.
Gegentribüne (Opposite Stand)Three tiers (the only stand with an upper third tier)
The stand opposite the Haupttribüne and the only one with a small third tier, giving high, panoramic side-on views across the pitch.
Pros: Excellent elevated sightlines; Category 1/2 seats around the middle offer strong value for the view; a good all-round choice.
Cons: Upper third tier is high and set back; corner blocks angle away from the centre.
Untertürkheimer KurveTwo tiers; away allocation blocks 61–65
The curve opposite the Cannstatter Kurve, holding the second video wall and the away section. Home fans fill the rest of the curve.
Pros: Behind-goal position with a full-width view of the pitch; two-tier so upper rows are elevated.
Cons: End-on view; the away pen is segregated in a corner of the curve and set apart from home noise.

Seats to avoid & obstructed views
Cannstatter Kurve behind large banners / two-pole flags: On the ultra terrace, drapes and banners routinely obscure the near goalmouth and parts of the pitch.
Gegentribüne upper (third) tier corners: The highest, most set-back seats in the ground; play at the far end looks distant and flattened from the corners.
Curve upper-tier corners behind the goals: End-on and high, so the far half of the pitch is a long way off and the angle is shallow.
Away section (blocks 61–65) rear/corner rows: Corner-of-the-curve position with segregation, set apart from the pitch centre and the main home atmosphere.
Curve seats directly behind a concert stage: For end-stage shows these sit behind or hard side-on to the stage and are sold restricted-view or withheld.
Accessibility & companion seating
The MHPArena is entirely step-free with around 200 wheelchair spaces plus companion seating, disabled parking and accessible toilets and concourses. Blind and partially-sighted fans can use audio-descriptive match commentary. Accessible tickets are booked in advance through VfB's dedicated service.
Where: Wheelchair-and-companion platforms are distributed around the lower tiers on all four sides so home, neutral and away disabled supporters can be seated appropriately; audio commentary is provided for blind/partially-sighted fans.
Food & drink at MHPArena
VfB Stuttgart's caterer Aramark leans firmly Swabian at the MHPArena: alongside Currywurst and the local classic Die Rote, kiosks sell Klassische Maultaschen, Käsespätzle mit Röstzwiebeln, LKW-Fleischkäse, Hopfenbratwurst, Falafel Pita and Riesenbrezeln, with meat from regional butcher Idler and baked goods from the regional Bäckerei Keim. Plant-based eaters get a vegan Bratwurst and vegan Maultaschen, and drinks stretch beyond beer to coffee, Schorle and Spritz.
Alongside cash, kiosks accept EC card, Visa and Mastercard.

How to get to MHPArena
Transport
The arena sits in the NeckarPark district of Bad Cannstatt, about 4.5 km north-east of Stuttgart's centre and next to the Porsche-Arena, Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle and the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Take S-Bahn line S1 from the Hauptbahnhof towards Kirchheim/Plochingen and get off at NeckarPark (Mercedes-Benz), about a 5-minute walk. On matchdays the Stadtbahn U11 runs directly to the NeckarPark/Stadion stop, with U19 also serving the area. Driving in is discouraged — parking is limited and pre-booked; use the B10/B14 if you must.
The area
A stadium-and-events quarter on the Neckar rather than a bar district — the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the two indoor arenas and the Cannstatter Wasen festival grounds are all within walking distance. Bad Cannstatt's old town and the city centre (reached in a few minutes by S-Bahn) have far more bars and restaurants for pre-match.
