Where to watch the Turkish Grand Prix

For the full Grand Prix experience at the Turkish Grand Prix, the pick is Main Grandstand (Platinum / Gold 1–3) — The grid, pit stops and podium — the only covered grandstand at the circuit. For on-track action, head to Silver Grandstands 1–5. The budget option is General Admission (TBC — approx. €37 in 2021). The Turkish Grand Prix runs 1–3 October 2027 at Intercity Istanbul Park, Istanbul — Round 17 of the 2027 Formula 1 season.

Overview

About the Turkish Grand Prix

Istanbul Park is back after six years away. The Turkish Grand Prix returns to the calendar in 2027 at the Hermann Tilke classic on the Asian side of the Bosphorus — home of the legendary quadruple-apex Turn 8, one of the greatest corners in modern Formula 1.

The 5.338 km Intercity Istanbul Park is widely considered the best of the modern-era circuit designs: a fast, flowing lap with big elevation changes, crowned by Turn 8 — a flat-out, four-apex left-hander that loads the cars for nearly seven seconds. The uphill back straight into the Turn 12 hairpin is the main overtaking spot, and the anti-clockwise layout gives drivers’ necks a rare workout. When it last ran in 2021, wet-weather chaos made it an instant classic.

Price guide

2027 prices are TBC. As a guide from the race’s last running in 2021: general admission started around €37 and main-straight grandstands around €415 — among the cheapest in F1 even then. Only the main grandstand is covered; Silver-tier stands line the back sections. Expect modern pricing but still strong value by calendar standards.

Intercity Istanbul Park viewing areas compared

Istanbul Park returns in 2027. Seat maps and spectator access may differ from its 2021 race, so judge a named stand by the new layout rather than an old review.

Main grandstand

Pit straight, grid and garages, with a reserved race view.

Consider: Confirm the 2027 stand cover and block before relying on historical seating descriptions.

Turn 8 area

A view toward the circuit’s long multi-apex left-hander.

Consider: The available stand or GA bank for 2027 is still to be confirmed.

Turn 12 braking area

End of the back straight and a key passing attempt.

Consider: Confirm the exact stand and entrance in the first 2027 spectator map.

Turkish Grand Prix hospitality options

F1 lists 2027 grandstands, VIP hospitality and Paddock Club, but the promoter has not yet published all detailed inclusions. Price a package only once its seat and food terms are clear.

Paddock Club

Pit-building premium viewing product when released for Istanbul.

Consider: Specific suite, days and scheduled experiences are TBC.

Venue VIP

Potential catered alternative to an admission-only grandstand.

Consider: Check the actual track view, parking and access rights before paying.

Getting to Intercity Istanbul Park and back

TOSFED İstanbul Park lies east of the centre on Istanbul’s Asian side. F1 says full 2027 transport and access details will be confirmed closer to the race.

Official shuttle, if published

Wait for a named promoter pickup and return timetable.

Consider: Past Kadıköy or Taksim routes are not confirmed for 2027.

Pre-arranged road transfer

A group transfer from an Asian-side hotel can provide a known return.

Consider: Agree the 2027 drop-off permitted by traffic control and budget for delays.

Rental car

Flexibility if staying nearer Tuzla or Sabiha Gökçen airport.

Consider: Do not book until the 2027 parking allocation and gate are known.

Parking at Intercity Istanbul Park for the Turkish Grand Prix

Official 2027 spectator parking, shuttle routes and access gates are not yet confirmed by TOSFED or F1. Treat any old Istanbul Park lot map as historical and wait for an event-specific parking release.

Hotels near Intercity Istanbul Park: where to stay for the Turkish Grand Prix

Choose between proximity to the Asian-side circuit and Istanbul sightseeing, then price the full cross-city return.

Kadıköy / Asian side

Restaurants and a more direct departure toward the eastern circuit.

Consider: A 2027 shuttle from Kadıköy has not been confirmed.

Tuzla / airport side

Potentially shorter road transfer and convenient Sabiha Gökçen flight.

Consider: Limited evening sightseeing compared with central Istanbul.

Beyoğlu or Sultanahmet

Historic attractions and broad hotels.

Consider: Longer journey across the city; budget the return after each session.

What will a Turkish Grand Prix weekend cost?

There is no useful 2027 ticket and shuttle total yet. Old 2021 ticket prices are too stale for a trip budget.

  • Ticket: quote the 2027 exact stand or GA ticket when released.
  • Stay: compare 30 September–4 October 2027 for four nights on both sides of the city.
  • Transport: add airport transfer and a realistic round-trip circuit transfer for each day.
  • Food: ordinary admission needs meals budgeted separately from any VIP package.

Supplier prices and event transport can change. Any previous-season figure is labelled with its year; check the final cart before paying.

Food and drink at and after the race

At the circuit

Food points and any hospitality catering will be clear only with the 2027 spectator map and product details.

After the race

Kadıköy offers many dinner options after an Asian-side return; Beyoğlu suits a central hotel. Agree the drop-off location before reserving an evening table.

Practical tips and accessibility

  • The Turkish GP is confirmed for 1–3 October 2027, but the organiser still asks fans to pre-register for ticket and event updates.
  • Do not assume a historical race shuttle or car park has returned.
  • Check whether your airport and hotel are on the same side of the Bosphorus as the circuit.

Visitor details reviewed 2026-09-27. Check the organiser again when the 2027 event instructions are released.

Race-weekend tips

Insider tips for the Turkish Grand Prix

  • Turn 8 is the pilgrimage — whatever ticket you buy, watch at least one session from a vantage point on the quadruple apex.
  • Fly into Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), not Istanbul Airport (IST): it is 15 km from the track versus 90+ km.
  • Register interest on the official ticket store now — 2027 pricing and on-sale dates have not been announced yet.
  • October in Istanbul is mild and pleasant, and the city itself — two continents, one skyline — is half the trip.
Logistics

Getting there & where to stay

Transport

Istanbul Park is in Tuzla on the Asian side of the city, about 60 km from the centre. Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) is just 15 km away — fly there rather than Istanbul Airport if you can. On race weekend the promoter historically runs shuttle buses from central hubs like Kadıköy and Taksim. Driving means the TEM motorway; allow serious time for post-race traffic.

Where to stay

Two strategies: stay Asian-side around Kadıköy for shorter transfers and a local neighbourhood feel, or stay in the historic centre (Sultanahmet/Beyoğlu) for the full Istanbul experience and accept a 60–90 minute race-day journey. Istanbul’s hotel supply is enormous and excellent value, so even race weekend rarely sells the city out.
