Full detailAbout Olympiahalle München
The Olympiahalle is Munich's historic indoor arena: a single steep bowl of 12,500 to 15,500 seats depending on configuration, beneath the tent-style acrylic-glass roof of the 1972 Olympic Park. The bowl uses paired letter-number blocks (such as E2 or F1) wrapped around a central floor, with perimeter standing (Umgriff) added around the top concourse for the biggest concerts.
The Olympiahalle is the indoor arena of Munich's Olympiapark, built for the 1972 Summer Olympics where it hosted gymnastics and handball. Designed by Behnisch & Partner and opened on 27 August 1972, the tent-roofed hall is set partly into the Olympiapark landscape so it appears lower from outside than its 45-metre interior height suggests. A major overhaul completed in 2009 raised capacity to 15,500, added a new VIP area, and created the underground Kleine Olympiahalle, which opened in 2011 and holds up to 3,600 standing or 2,000 seated.

Seating levels explained
Lower bowl
The seating ring closest to the floor, wrapping the arena in paired letter-number blocks such as E2 and F1.
Pros: Closest tiered seats to the stage and to the action on the court or rink; central blocks near the halfway line give the clearest sport sightlines.
Cons: Centre front-row seats can sit below stage height at some concerts.
Upper bowl
A steep upper ring using the same paired letter-number block scheme, with strong sightlines across the tent-roofed hall even from the back rows.
Pros: A relaxed, complete view of the whole floor and stage from the back rows.
Cons: A long way up from the concourse and from an end-stage performance.
Business Area / VIP blocksBlocks E2, F1, F2, G1
VIP Package seating sits in blocks E2, F1, F2 or G1 depending on the event, with a separate entrance and catering in the Business Area of the hall.
Pros: Premium seating position, separate access with no queuing, and a buffet with drinks from 1.5 hours before the event.
Cons: Sold only as part of the VIP Package, at a higher price than a standard ticket.
Floor and Umgriff standing
The central floor is standing or seated depending on the event; for the biggest concerts a perimeter standing ring (Umgriff) runs around the top of the upper-bowl concourse, with screens showing the performance.
Pros: Floor standing is the closest position to the stage; Umgriff is among the cheapest tickets for sold-out shows.
Cons: Umgriff is a long way from the stage, and floor sightlines depend on the height of the people standing nearby.
