Overview

About Uber Arena

The Uber Arena is one of Germany's premier indoor venues: a steep modern bowl seating 14,500 for basketball, 14,200 for ice hockey and up to 17,000 for concerts, built around a lower tier of Premium blocks (101-104), a middle tier (201-220) and an upper tier (401-421), with the Ron Barcelo Premium Lounge, Event Suites and a World Dinner Restaurant on the hospitality level.

The Uber Arena is a multipurpose indoor arena in the Friedrichshain district of Berlin, on the bank of the Spree between Ostbahnhof and Warschauer Straße. It opened in September 2008, was designed by HOK Sport (now Populous) with JSK Architects, and cost €165 million. Renamed under a long-term partnership with Uber and AEG Europe on 22 March 2024 — the largest naming-rights deal of its kind in Germany — it is the home of ALBA Berlin basketball and Eisbären Berlin ice hockey and hosts more than 130 sport, music and show events a year.

Seating levels explained

Floor

The flat central area used for standing at most concerts and as a seated floor for some productions, or as the court or rink for sport.

Pros: Immediate proximity to the stage at standing shows.

Cons: Flat floor: sightlines at the back depend on the crowd in front.

Lower tier (Unterrang)Blocks 101-104

The lower ring closest to the floor, sold as Premium Seats in blocks 101 to 104 with upholstered seating and direct access to the Ron Barcelo Premium Lounge.

Pros: Closest tiered seats to the stage or playing surface, with a dedicated Premium entrance and cloakroom.

Cons: Premium pricing for these blocks.

Middle tier (Mittelrang)Blocks 201-220

The second seating ring, in blocks 201 to 220, wrapping the arena above the Premium blocks. Accessible wheelchair seating is located on this level, reached via entrances 2 and 9 and four lifts.

Pros: Good elevated view of the whole bowl. Noticeably cheaper than the lower tier, and step-free access via lifts for accessible seating.

Cons: Further from the action than the lower tier.

Upper tier (Oberrang)Blocks 401-421

The highest seating ring, in blocks 401 to 421, running almost the full circumference of the bowl.

Pros: The cheapest tiered seats, with corner sections at the stage end still reasonably close to the action.

Cons: High up; rear centre rows are a long way from an end-stage performance.

Suites and hospitality

Event Suites for 12 to 36 guests, with a lounge, catering and a private viewing balcony, plus the Ron Barcelo Premium Lounge and World Dinner Restaurant on the premium level.

Pros: Private, catered lounge access with elevated views and dedicated parking and entrance.
