Full detailPortimão is back. The Portuguese Grand Prix returns to the 2027 calendar at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve — the rollercoaster circuit above the Algarve coast that produced instant classics in 2020 and 2021. Tickets went on sale on 21 September 2026 and the first phase sold fast.
The 4.653 km Algarve circuit is defined by elevation: blind crests, plunging downhill braking zones and a final corner that climbs onto the pit straight at full throttle. The undulation makes it a genuine driver’s track and a spectacular spectator one — from the higher grandstands you can see most of the lap laid out like a model railway. Expect wind off the Atlantic to play a role in the afternoons.

Official phase-1 prices for 2027: General Admission €300, South Area grandstand €400, First Corner and Portimão grandstands €500, North Area grandstand €600, Main Grandstand €600 (lower) to €700 (upper) for three days. The promoter has confirmed prices rise with later phases, so early buyers get the best rates.
Portimão’s elevation is the attraction: compare a fixed seat facing the pit straight or a braking zone with the less predictable sightlines of a roaming ticket.
Grid, garages and pit straight; the upper and lower sections offer different height and shelter.
Consider: The premium seat may see less of the undulating infield.
Downhill braking into Turn 1, a likely passing and opening-lap focus.
Consider: Confirm block and screen on the 2027 seat map.
Elevated angles onto the rollercoaster middle section.
Consider: Longer walks between stands; check which gates and facilities serve your section.
Portugal returns in 2027 and package details may arrive in phases. Separate a premium seat, catered circuit lounge and F1 Paddock Club when comparing.
A fixed view of the start and pits without buying an all-inclusive lounge.
Consider: Food, drinks and parking may remain separate.
F1 lists Portimão hospitality interest for 2027.
Consider: The precise lounge, view and inclusions are not yet a confirmed offer; quote once published.
The circuit is outside Portimão at Mexilhoeira Grande. A Portimão or Lagos hotel still needs a final road transfer; do not assume a walkable town-to-track route.
Flexible arrival from a coastal hotel via the circuit access roads.
Consider: Check official 2027 parking allocation and leave time for the post-race exit.
A return taxi or group transfer can remove the need for a rental car.
Consider: Agree the pickup point and return time; demand after the race will be high.
Use only a published 2027 event service with a named stop and timetable.
Consider: No official F1 race-weekend shuttle timetable is verified yet.
The promoter has not published a verified 2027 F1 parking map and rate. A ticket does not establish which lot or gate to use; confirm the race-specific instructions before driving.
Your choice is the shorter circuit road journey from Portimão or a longer transfer in exchange for more holiday options.
Largest nearby beach-and-hotel base with an easy evening return.
Consider: Still requires a road transfer to the hilltop circuit.
Old-town restaurants and a holiday base west of Portimão.
Consider: Longer race-day drive and limited return taxi supply.
Smaller accommodation choices that may suit a rental-car trip.
Consider: Check the road route, on-site parking and dinner options first.
The 2027 ticket cart is the only current ticket quote; total trip cost depends strongly on whether you need a rental car.
Supplier prices and event transport can change. Any previous-season figure is labelled with its year; check the final cart before paying.
The current F1 event plan will identify concessions and any pre-paid catering; bring water and check permitted bottle rules.
Portimão’s riverside and Praia da Rocha give nearby dinner choices; Lagos old town suits those staying west. Reserve on Saturday and Sunday and allow time for the circuit exit.
Visitor details reviewed 2026-09-27. Check the organiser again when the 2027 event instructions are released.

Portimão and Lagos are the twin bases: Praia da Rocha in Portimão for beachfront hotels closest to the circuit, Lagos for the old town and restaurants. Albufeira and Vilamoura further east work if you are hiring a car. June is the start of Algarve high season, and the race compresses demand — book the coast early or look inland for value.
Search hotels in PortimãoThe circuit sits in the hills about 10 km north of Portimão and 20 km from Lagos. Faro Airport is 80 km east, about an hour by car. There is no practical public transport to the track — most fans drive or use the shuttle buses the promoter runs from Portimão and Algarve resort towns on race weekend. Roads in are single-carriageway, so leave early on Sunday.
