Overview

About Petco Park

Petco Park is the downtown home of the San Diego Padres, with a seating capacity of 39,860. The Petco Park seating chart has three main levels: the Field Level (sections 101 to 137), the Terrace Level (201 to 235) and the Upper Level (300 to 329). Odd numbered sections run up the first base line towards right field and even numbers up the third base line towards left field, starting from 101 and 102 behind home plate. Premium seating wraps home plate, from the Blue Shield Home Plate Club at the front to the Lexus Club (lettered sections A to L) behind it. The Padres dugout is on the first base side and the visitors' dugout on the third base side. In left field the Western Metal Supply Co. building holds rooftop and rail seating above the foul pole, while right field has the lower boxes (129 to 137) and the Right Field Upper sections (227 to 235). The official Padres shade map shows the third base side, especially the back rows, getting the most shade and the first base side the most sun. Beyond the outfield, Gallagher Square hosts its own concerts on the Sycuan Stage.

Opened on 8 April 2004 and designed by Populous (then HOK Sport) with Antoine Predock, Petco Park uses Indian sandstone and stucco, white exposed steel and dark blue seats to echo San Diego's landscape. Its signature is the restored, century old Western Metal Supply Co. building in left field, whose corner forms the left field foul pole, and beyond the outfield Gallagher Square is a grassy park and concert space that opens to the public outside game times.

Petco Park view from your seat

Behind home plate

101 to 104, Blue Shield Home Plate Club, Lexus Club A to L

105 to 127 (odd numbers)

The Padres dugout side, with the dugout beside sections 105 to 107. The official shade map shows most of this side in full sun.

Tip: For a day game in the sun, bring sun cream or choose the third base side.

Third base side, Field Level

106 to 124 (even numbers)

The visitors' dugout side, beside 108 to 110, looking across the diamond at the Padres dugout. The back rows of these sections are in full shade on the official shade map.

Tip: The 3rd Base Coach's Box is billed by the Padres as the best view into the Padres dugout.

Outfield seats close to the right field wall, with the upper sections 227 to 235 set well back in front of the right field scoreboard.

Seat numbers

How Petco Park seat numbers work

The official Petco Park seating map numbers the Field Level 101 to 137, the Terrace Level 201 to 235 and the Upper Level 300 to 329. The first digit is the level. Odd numbers run from home plate up the first base line and into right field, and even numbers up the third base line and into left field, so 101 and 102 sit either side of the plate and 300 is dead centre upstairs. Several Field Level numbers (for example 110 to 124 on the third base side) appear twice on the map, as a front block and a back block, so check which part of the section your row is in. The Lexus Club behind home plate uses letters A to L. Row numbers do not always start at 1: RateYourSeats lists section 103 as rows 8 to 20.

Reading a ticket: Section 212: Terrace Level on the third base side (even number), about halfway between home plate and the left field foul pole, in an area the official shade map shows as mostly shaded.

Concerts

Petco Park floor plan for concerts

Full venue concerts and festivals build a stage on the playing field and open all gates. Layouts vary by show, so always check the seating chart for your event.

The floor: The playing field is sold as floor tickets, reserved or general admission depending on the show.

Gallagher Square shows are separate standing shows on the Sycuan Stage beyond the outfield, entered from the Balboa Gate on J Street, and do not use the ballpark seats.
