Where to watch the Hungarian Grand Prix

For the full Grand Prix experience at the Hungarian Grand Prix, the pick is Platinum Grandstand — Premium seating opposite the pits with the grid, stops and podium in view. For on-track action, head to Super Gold Grandstand. The budget option is Silver Grandstands (From approx. €250 (2027)). The Hungarian Grand Prix runs 30 July–1 August 2027 at Hungaroring, Mogyoród — Round 13 of the 2027 Formula 1 season.

Overview

About the Hungarian Grand Prix

The last race before the summer break, in one of Europe’s great party cities. The Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring has been on the calendar since 1986, and 2027 tickets are already on sale — with general admission among the cheapest of the entire season.

The 4.381 km Hungaroring is tight, twisty and often called “Monaco without the walls”: fourteen corners with barely a straight between them means overtaking is hard work and qualifying position is gold. The natural bowl setting is the payoff for spectators — from the grandstands on the main straight and the surrounding banks you can see much of the lap. Expect serious heat: late July in Hungary regularly tops 30°C.

Hungaroring viewing areas compared

The Hungaroring’s bowl can show more than one section from some seats, but the precise row and the redeveloped main grandstand matter. Check the 2027 grandstand map.

Platinum or Super Gold

Pit straight, grid and podium in the main-stand area.

Consider: Premium price; confirm cover and exact block in the renewed stand.

Turn 1 / Gold

First braking area and opening-lap action.

Consider: View varies by block and does not put you at the podium.

General admission

Designated hillside viewing and fan-zone access.

Consider: No reserved seat or guaranteed shade in a hot midsummer weekend.

Hungarian Grand Prix hospitality options

Circuit VIP and F1 packages should be compared by reserved race view, catering and transport. The renewed main building includes premium areas, but a standard grandstand ticket does not include them.

Main building VIP

Venue hospitality around the new paddock and main-straight facilities.

Consider: Confirm 2027 suite, view, meals and parking in a written package.

Paddock Club

F1 hospitality focused on pit-building viewing.

Consider: Verify scheduled pit-lane activities and days; paddock access is not assumed.

Getting to Hungaroring and back

The organiser has used HÉV suburban rail and dedicated fan shuttles from Budapest, as well as an event city shuttle. Its 2027 route and gate instructions should decide which hotel is easiest.

HÉV plus fan bus

Suburban rail toward Mogyoród, then the event connection and gate walk.

Consider: Check the 2027 transfer station, fare and return queue.

Direct city shuttle

The 2026 organiser service linked central Budapest and the circuit.

Consider: Confirm 2027 boarding point, ticket and last return; do not copy 2026 times.

Taxi or car

A direct road journey can suit a group or accessible plan.

Consider: Follow current designated taxi rank and parking gates; expect traffic after the race.

Parking at Hungaroring for the Hungarian Grand Prix

The precise 2027 lot and gate arrangements must be confirmed on the organiser’s event map. Some 2026 gate restrictions were ticket-category specific; do not assume any entrance works for every admission type.

Hotels near Hungaroring: where to stay for the Hungarian Grand Prix

Budapest gives the best hotel and evening choice; choose a district with an easy connection to the specific 2027 shuttle or rail stop.

Central Budapest

Largest range of hotels, Danube restaurants and nightlife.

Consider: Include the morning connection to the HÉV or official bus in the journey.

Örs vezér tere side

Potentially simpler access to the suburban rail corridor.

Consider: Check actual station and hotel walk, not only district name.

Mogyoród / Gödöllő

A local stay may shorten circuit travel.

Consider: Far fewer rooms and dinner choices; verify a safe gate route.

What will a Hungarian Grand Prix weekend cost?

Budapest room rates and the daily circuit return matter as much as the GA-to-grandstand difference. Use a dated trip total.

  • Ticket: compare 2027 GA, a specific Gold section and main grandstand.
  • Stay: search 29 July–2 August 2027 for four nights and the same occupancy.
  • Transport: include each HÉV/fan-bus or city-shuttle return, or taxi and parking.
  • Food: the organiser permits limited food and drink and provides free water; allow for additional meals.

Supplier prices and event transport can change. Any previous-season figure is labelled with its year; check the final cart before paying.

Food and drink at and after the race

At the circuit

The 2027 organiser FAQ permits up to 1 litre of drink and three sandwiches or equivalent per person, notes free water and a Free-From Food Corner for dietary needs.

After the race

Eat in Budapest near your final bus or rail destination; central Pest around Deák Ferenc tér has broad choices, while a Mogyoród stay needs a confirmed local restaurant opening.

Practical tips and accessibility

  • Bring sun protection; only small folding umbrellas are permitted under the current FAQ.
  • There is no luggage storage at the circuit, so leave a large bag at the hotel.
  • Check the renewed stand map and the permitted gate for your 2027 ticket.

Race-weekend tips

Insider tips for the Hungarian Grand Prix

  • Hungary is the best-value grandstand weekend in Europe — if you want reserved seats on a budget, this is the race.
  • The heat is real: shade, water and sun protection are survival gear, not accessories. Grandstands on the main straight get the sun all afternoon.
  • Overtaking is scarce — Saturday qualifying is where the weekend is decided, and it is the cheapest day to attend.
  • Pair the race with Budapest itself: thermal baths, the castle district and the ruin bars make this a proper city break.

Hotels for the Hungarian Grand Prix

All hotels & live prices

Stay in Budapest. Districts V–VII around the Danube put you in the middle of the city’s restaurants and ruin bars, with easy HÉV access to the race. Budapest hotel prices on race weekend are a fraction of the Western European rounds, which is half of Hungary’s appeal — but central rooms still sell out, so book ahead.

Logistics

Getting there & where to stay

Transport

The Hungaroring is at Mogyoród, about 20 km northeast of Budapest. On race weekend, HÉV suburban trains run to Mogyoród with shuttles or a walk to the gates, and the promoter lays on buses from central Budapest. Driving means the M3 motorway and heavy Sunday queues. Taxis and rideshares surge hard after the race — the HÉV is the fan-proven route.

Where to stay
